This policy explains what Scrambies Golf collects when you use the Scrambies apps and scrambies.golf, why we collect it, and the choices you have. Scrambies is operated by Scrambies LLC, a New Hampshire company (“we”, “us”).
The short version
- We collect what we need to run golf events, leagues and your account, and to keep Scrambies working.
- Golfers play free. To keep it that way, we may use some of your information to show you ads that fit your interests, in Scrambies and elsewhere. You can opt out at any time.
- We don’t sell your personal information for money.
- Our website uses cookies for analytics and advertising. See Cookies and analytics.
- You can delete your account and data at any time. See Delete your account.
Where Scrambies is available
Scrambies is available only to people in the United States right now. This policy is written for US users and US law. As we open Scrambies in other regions, we’ll update this policy for them.
What we collect
Account information. Your name, email address, sign-in details (for example, Sign in with Apple or Google), profile photo and anything you add to your profile, such as your home course or handicap.
Golf activity. The events, leagues and teams you join, the scores you or your scorer enter, results, standings, stats, and contest entries such as Skins, CTP and Long Drive.
Things you post. Clubhouse posts, comments, photos and messages, and reports you make about other content.
Location, only if you allow it. Your device location, used to find nearby courses and events and to check in at a course. You can turn this off in your device settings at any time.
Device and usage data. Device type, operating system, app version, crash reports, IP address, device and advertising identifiers, and how you use the app and site (for example, which pages you visit). Some of this is collected with cookies and similar technologies.
Notifications. If you turn on push notifications, a token that lets us send them to your device.
Waitlist and contact forms. Your email address, the kind of golfer or organization you are, any optional details you give us (organization name, league size, state, message), and the page and campaign that brought you to the form.
Payments. Payments are handled by Stripe, and in-app purchases by Apple or Google. We receive a record of the purchase, not your full card number.
How we use it
- To run Scrambies: accounts, events, leagues, live scoring, leaderboards and the clubhouse TV board.
- To show your scores and results to the people in the same event or league, and to the organizer who runs it.
- To send messages you’d expect: event updates, push notifications you turn on, account notices, and waitlist and launch emails. Marketing email always has an unsubscribe link.
- To show and measure ads, as described in Advertising.
- To keep Scrambies safe: preventing spam and abuse, and enforcing our community guidelines and terms. Posts, photos, messages and listings are screened automatically, and some are reviewed by our team.
- To fix problems and improve the product.
- To meet legal obligations.
Advertising
We may use information about how you use Scrambies, such as the pages and features you use, your general location (city or region, never your precise location for ads), device and advertising identifiers, and cookies, to show you ads we think you’ll find relevant, in Scrambies and on other sites and apps, and to measure how those ads perform. Sponsors chosen by an event or league organizer are shown to everyone in that event and don’t depend on your information.
To do this, we may share identifiers and usage information with advertising partners, who may combine it with information they already have. Under some state laws, this counts as “sharing” or “selling” personal information, or as “targeted advertising”. You can opt out at any time:
- Turn on Global Privacy Control in your browser. Our site treats it as a request to opt out and doesn’t load product analytics or advertising tools.
- Email privacy@scrambies.golf with the subject “Opt out” and the email address on your account.
- Use your device settings: on iPhone, turn off “Allow Apps to Request to Track”; on Android, delete or reset your advertising ID.
We don’t use information about children, or sensitive information such as precise location or health, for advertising.
Who we share it with
People you play with. Your name, scores and results are visible to others in the events and leagues you join, and on public leaderboards and TV boards an organizer chooses to show. Organizers, courses and clubs that run an event can see the entries for it.
Service providers. These companies process data on our behalf, under contracts that limit how they can use it:

When the law requires it, or to protect the safety of our users or the public.
If the business changes hands, your information may transfer to the new owner under this policy.
Children
Scrambies is not for children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child under 13 has given us information, email privacy@scrambies.golf and we’ll delete it.
How long we keep it
We keep account information while your account is open. When you delete your account, we delete your personal information within 30 days, except scores in shared leagues and events, which we keep with your name removed so other players’ results stay correct, and records we must keep by law. Waitlist entries are kept until launch follow-up is done or you ask us to remove them.
Your choices and rights
- Access, correct or delete. You can see and edit most of your information in the app. To get a copy of your data or delete it, see Delete your account or email privacy@scrambies.golf.
- Advertising. Opt out of targeted advertising and the related sharing as described in Advertising.
- Email. Use the unsubscribe link in any marketing email.
- Push notifications and location. Turn them off in your device settings.
- Global Privacy Control and Do Not Track. If your browser sends either signal, our site doesn’t load product analytics or advertising tools, and we treat Global Privacy Control as a request to opt out.
- US state privacy rights. Depending on where you live (for example California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia and other states with privacy laws), you may have the right to know, access, correct, delete and port your personal information, and to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information, targeted advertising and profiling. To make a request, email privacy@scrambies.golf; we’ll verify it’s you and respond within the time the law requires. You can use an authorized agent. If we deny your request, you can appeal by replying to our answer. We won’t treat you differently for using these rights.
Security
We protect your information with encryption in transit, access controls and monitoring. No system is perfectly secure; if something goes wrong, we’ll tell you as the law requires.
Changes
If we change this policy in a meaningful way, we’ll update the version and date at the top and tell you in the app or by email.
